More Firefox Extension Fun

It's that time again to offer some more great extensions for Firefox to help everyone waste even more time on the web. If you missed the first list, here's a link.

1. Blogger Web Comments - I think the name is a little confusing, but the tool is undeniably entertaining. This little extension will put up a small window in the lower right corner of your browser with a list of Blogger-hosted blogs that have referenced the site you are currently visiting in a post. Try going to your own blog site and see who has been writing about you.

2. FasterFox - The name is fairly self-explanatory. The extension basically took all of the Firefox config tweak guides out on the Internet and integrated them all into an easy-to-use extension. The default settings usually show some noticeable improvement in page load times, and for those of you with ADD it has a timer that runs in the status bar to let you know whether it took a 1/2 second longer than usual to load your homepage.

3. FoxyTunes - FoxyTunes integrates music player controls into the status bar of the browser so you don't have to go through the laborious task of hitting ALT-TAB (or F9 for Mac fans) to change tracks. Though the name suggests iTunes only (at least it does to me), FoxyTunes is compatible with WinAmp, iTunes, Yahoo Music Engine, foobar2000, Windows Media Player, Musicmatch, and many others.

4. Fire FTP - I'm not sure how many of the 3 people who read this blog use FTP, but if you do, Fire FTP is damned convenient. It has most of the features of full-install FTP clients, but integrates right into the browser (opens from Tools menu). I highly recommend this if you use FTP a lot.

5. Download StatusBar - Nice replacement for the download window. Downloads show up in the status bar, and a mouse-over shows details on each file.
